How To Keep Pocket Bag Layers Flat On The Garment's Wrong Side
When sewing slash pockets, you may find that the pocket bag's top corners tend to roll or fold downward through the garment's regular wash cycles and with prolonged wear. These folded corners can show through the garment's surface and often cause discomfort during wear.
To keep pocket bag corners flat during the garment's lifecycle, hand-tack each top corner to the wrong side of the garment surface. Keep in mind that the stitch should only be applied through a few threads of the garment's wrong side and not the entire garment layer- it should not be visible on the garment's face side. A simple whipstitch tack (as shown above) is a great choice to flatten and secure each corner.

Once complete, not only should the tack stitch be completely invisible on the pocket's right side, it should also not cause any tension or pulling within the garment layer.
